When you notice the shredder is experiencing difficulty shredding, or gets jammed easily, then it's probably time to oil. If you use your shredder occasionally, then oiling your shredder may only be necessary every two months to maintain good performance. Very pleased with its shredding capabilities. I used it for 3 consecutive days, about 2 hrs. each day on a big project without any major problems. Occasionally it would not start to shred after emptying the basket, but tilting it slightly forward solved that issue. Not sure why that occurred. The basket seems a little flimsy, but no major issue. Overall, satisfied.

I mistakenly ordered this one but wanted the 50 sheet feeder. This works fine. Hand fed it sheets for over 1 hour and it didn't over heat.

This shredder is easy to assemble, it is much quieter than my last one of a different brand. The only issue I had ( of my own making) was the sensitivity of the bin closure. I had not closed it tightly and it would not star,Duh! It works beautifully and I recommend it.
Hefty Motor, Weak Bin
This motor is great, eating through whatever I give it, from many sheets of paper to thin cardboard. It also isn't very loud relative to other shredders I've used. I will say that the bin construction leaves room for improvement. The first one I ordered came busted where the screws keep the front of the bin attached near the bottom of the shredder. The replacement also has damage in the same place, though I didn't think it necessary to raise a formal complaint.
